Beth Coulter became only the fourth Irish woman to tee it up at the Augusta National Women's Amateur as the Kirkistown Castle star began her tournament earlier today.

Coulter earned her trip down the famous Magnolia Lane thanks to being ranked 50th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings with the Curtis Cup star following in the footsteps of Julie McCarthy, Olivia Mehaffey and Golf Ireland Professional Lauren Walsh with each having competed at the event in recent years.

Since missing out on receiving an invite to this event following her runner-up finish at the R&A Girls’ Amateur Championship back in 2021, Coulter has put in the hard yards to finally get her chance to play in Augusta.

“It’s something that I have worked really, really hard to do in the last three or four years,” said Coulter.

“I knew if I had a good fall with some good results, I would be really, really close and I am just really happy that the hard work has paid off and I am going to get to do it”.

Coulter comes into the event in some fantastic form having secured five top-10 finishes on the collegiate circuit this season, including a runner-up finish in the Clover Cup and T5 in her home collegiate event, the ASU Invitational in March.

While the opening two rounds are set to be contested at Champions Retreat Golf Club today and tomorrow, a 36-hole cut on Thursday evening will see the top 30 plus ties advancing to the final round where they will battle it out at Augusta National Golf Club on Saturday, April 5. Those who do not make the cut will still get the chance to play the world famous course in a practice round on Friday.

The 2025 Augusta National Women’s Amateur takes place from April 2-5.
