How applications will be assessed

Applications will be assessed based on the following criteria:

  • Adherence to the grant eligibility criteria.

  • The level of detail provided by the club in the application. Golf Ireland will follow up with clubs if insufficient details are provided in the application.

  • The barriers being removed for people with disabilities at your club. Clubs should stress in their application how this grant will have an impact on reducing barriers for people with disabilities. Please mention the barrier and how the barrier is being alleviated. Below are some examples:

    • If your club is new to delivering a Golf4All programme, then your club is removing the lack of access, choice, and opportunity to golf as a barrier for people with disabilities in your local area.

    • If your club is organising social activities as part of the programme, then your club can help increase the participant’s sense of belonging and decrease not feeling welcome in a club as a barrier.

    • If your club is organising training, your club will be increasing awareness about people with disabilities’ ability to play sports and decreasing the lack of capacity, skills and knowledge in the sports sector as a barrier.

    • Organising the programme and organising training help remove attitudinal barriers towards people with disabilities' ability to play golf.

    • If your club plans to provide equipment to the participants during the programme, then your club is removing the lack of access to equipment as a barrier.

    • If your club will provide access to the programmes at an affordable rate, then your club is removing cost as a barrier to participation in sports for people with disabilities.
